Today is the day. | January 2020 Love Note
Today is the first day, of the first month, of the first year, of a new decade. There's something I love about the fresh, clean feeling of anything new — new car, new job, new bag, new year. It's exciting. This year, I've decided to use my excitement as an opportunity to formally (and finally!) share Love, Maaden with all of you.
The Love, Maaden project has grown from my heart. It comes from a place of wanting women to live fearlessly. And knowing that fear cannot flourish in the presence of a few things: faith, honesty, and genuine community. So here's my goal: to encourage women to intentionally unplug, meet our people around the table, and speak our truth. This is something I do regularly, and have found to be one of the most impactful practices in my life.
What I've heard from others though, is that a lot of women find the idea of hosting people in their homes to be intimidating, that they're not the "Martha Stewart type" or that they don't have the time, or the space, or that their house isn't ready. Love, Maaden was created in response to all of those reasons (read: excuses) for why we don't let people in (literally and emotionally), because I honestly believe that we all need this. We need time and space to heal, to process, to unload, and to celebrate. Our lives depend on it.
So let's go. Today is the day!
I want you to do three things.
First, get excited! This is going to be SO good. I promise.
Second, keep reading because the table topics and recipe for this month are included below (YAY!)
And third, use the guides in the Starter Kit on my website -- they make it really simple to do this. They help with everything from how to pick a date and decide who to invite, to determine how much time to allot and how that time should flow.
One more thing... stop overthinking it. Yeah, I see you. And you've got this. Today is the day. Let's dig in!
Love,
Maaden
