Day 13: Rest | Freedom & Flow 2025
As we close out this second week of our fast, let’s talk about rest—not just physical rest, but spiritual rest. God invites us to a deep, restorative rest for our souls, found in His presence.
This kind of rest goes beyond a nap or a break. Because this rest isn’t about stopping—it’s about surrendering. It’s trusting and submitting to God, exchanging our worries and what-ifs for His peace. It’s choosing to be fully present in each moment—not caught up replaying yesterday’s regrets or bracing for tomorrow’s uncertainties, but being grounded in the here and now.
Spiritual rest is just what the freedom and flow we’ve been seeking during this fast feels like. It’s loosening our grip on control and letting God take the lead. Like many of the other practices we’ve covered, it’s not passive; it’s a deliberate act of faith—a choice to release what weighs us down and trust the God who holds it all.
So today, ask yourself—How are you letting go and letting God? Where can you create space for spiritual rest in your life this year?
Take a moment to pause and lean into His promises. Whether through prayer, reflection, or simply sitting still in His presence, let yourself rest in the truth that He’s already working on your behalf.
