Day 8: Presence | Freedom & Flow 2025

It’s day 1 of the second week of our fast. Before we jump in today, let’s take a moment to reflect on the first week. How has your fast been going? Have the things you’ve given up nudged you toward spending more time with God? If not, maybe it’s time to reassess. Is there something else you can release and replace with intentional time in God’s presence—your morning coffee, a habit of scrolling through social media, a show or guilty pleasure?

If you’ve found yourself more rooted in God’s Word and reflection this week, how do you feel? Convicted? Comforted? Clear?

I’ve personally felt encouraged. Not because my circumstances have changed, but because my perspective has. I’ve also felt honored. God is so generous to make His presence available to us, but like so many of our blessings—our health, the people we love, even the sunshine —we can take it for granted, assuming it will always be there.

The difference with God’s presence is that it is always there. God is unwavering. He always forgives, always loves, and is always near. But, even though His presence is constant, we shouldn’t take it for granted. We should remind ourselves of the privilege and power we have by being connected to the Source. And when we intentionally seek Him, we become more aware of just how transformative His presence is and will want, even more, to abide in it.

As you reflect on God’s presence today, remind yourself that it’s not just something to long for—it’s something to experience, fully, freely, and with intention. In His presence, our hearts find rest, our minds are renewed, and our paths are illuminated. There’s no greater place to be than with God.
